SEO website copy How to hire me

Copywriting tips

Apart from choosing to hire me, here are a few other great tips for your copy. Using these ideas should help make your own writing a little more concise, readable and engaging.

*Use simple words - don't try and impress your audience with complex words. The truth is, regardless of their education, people prefer direct, clear written communication - especially on a webpage.

*Use headings. This is particularly important if you're writing long copy - headings break the piece up and allow readers to scan to the section they are looking for. Large blocks of copy can be daunting and may cause potential customers to stop reading.

*Try not to use the same word in quick succession - this can be difficult, say, if you're talking about a very specific thing - such as selling a holiday to 'Amsterdam'.  This might be replaced with 'the Dutch capital' or 'Holland's capital city'. Of course, when you're trying to cram in as many 'Amsterdam' keywords as possible for your SEO, this is paradoxical. But it's worth keeping these words as far apart as possible.

*Always keep your eye on the sale: if you're writing for a website, you're likely to have a wide range of pages of various content. It's important to make all this content sales-driven, ensuring your reader never loses interest and is continually given reasons to stay on the site, and consider buying your product. In this sense, there should be no distinction between a 'content writer' and a 'copywriter'.
